BuildGreen assisted Unirii View in obtaining the first BREEAM in Romania under 2016 regulation

BuildGreen assisted office project Unirii View, currently in development in downtown Bucharest, in obtaining the first BREEAM sustainable certificate issued for a real estate project in Romania after the latest regulation, issued in 2016. The office project received an Excellent rating.

”Obtaining a green sustainable certification with the best possible rating and an overall score that translates into the building’s actual features became imperious on the local office market, this being one of the factors that differentiate one project from another in a context in which the offer is very variate and the request does not analyze only square meters and locations but also the existence of different facilities and mid and long term benefits”, said Răzvan Nica, managing director BuildGreen, Romania’s leading advisor in the field of development, design and certification of green buildings.

The new BREEAM regulations launched last year are considered to be much stricter than previous versions. This means that the assessment of Unirii View will take into consideration higher standards, as the reference criteria seek further into the future, and the same ranking according to the old standards would most probably result in a lower ranking under the 2016 standard.

Unirii View is the office project with the most central location in Bucharest, only a five-minute walk from downtown Unirii Square. The project, which is due to be delivered in the summer of 2018, will have 18 floors and a leasable area of approximately 18,000 square meters.
