The quality and number of nominated companies for this year’s event suggested an underlying strength to the region’s property markets. The international advisor CBRE shone the brightest on the evening picking up seven awards, including a clean sweep of all the main agency awards as well as Property Management Team of the Year, Overall Company of the Year and Professional of the Year for their very own Managing Director Razvan Iorgu.
The 11th annual SEE Real Estate Awards for 2015 was held in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd. The event brought together some of the region’s top real estate developers, investors and market professionals, who were there to see who would collect the 25 prizes that were handed out over the course of the evening.
Company of the Year awards were presented to the leading developer, investors and professional service providers in South Eastern Europe for their activities and accomplishments during 2015. Companies were judged on their overall market contribution, quality of customer services, market innovation, commercial success, leadership and market penetration.
AFI Europe won Office Developer of the Year. Swedish developer Skanska was also a big office sector winner picking up the Green Office Building of the Year for Green Court Bucharest (Building B).
Project of the Year award winners were rated according to quality of design, building efficiency, quality of location, environmental concerns and commercial success. The judges decided that this year’s best retail development was Coresi Shopping Resort by Immochan, which also picked up Retail Developer of the Year. Industrial Development of the Year went to P3 Bucharest for Carrefour in Romania. On the residential side, the Residential Development of the Year prize went to Cosmopolis, a project by Opus Land Development, which also collected the Residential Developer of the Year award.
Portuguese developer Sonae Sierra and Irish concern Caelum Development won the Concept & Design Project of the Year for their shopping centre in Bucharest, ParkLake.
Coldwell Banker took home the prize for Residential Agency of the Year, and UniCredit Bank/UniCredit Group won Bank of the Year. Accentuating the interest in the SEE region’s retail sector Overall Retailer of the Year went to H&M.
Other major winners for the company awards included CTP as the Industrial Developer of the Year, Chapman Taylor for Architectural Firm of the Year, and Bog’Art as Professional Service Provider of the Year. Project Management Firm of the Year went to Optim Project Management. Finally, the award for Law Firm of the Year went to Dentons.
